I have to confess something. I cannot stop shopping here! Cotton On is officially one of my favorite stores. We first discovered it back during the holidays. All their stuff is simply awesome. The mister loves it too so that’s a win-win in my book. We always seem to find something and their prices are very budget friendly. They currently have one of the best sales I’ve ever encountered in a long time. Nothing you see below is over $10. Check out some of my faves! Have you been to Cotton On? What’s your favorite store? Come on, you know you have one.
1. Headphones $10.00 | 2. Hooded Fleece $10.00 | 3. Skinny Jeans $10.00 | 4. Shorts $9.75 | 5. Cilla T Bar $7.65 | 6. Jersey Dress $10.00 | 7. Textured Dress $10.00

I’ve been wanting to make some pom poms for a long time. After I made them I needed to take them to the next level of fun. A cake topper! I followed the instructions from Scoutie Girl to create my garland. Then I added my own little twist. I decided to simply use some cute paper straws as my holders and make it a cake muffin topper! I mean, how cute does it look? I was telling the mister I felt like throwing a party for no reason just to use it. It’s super easy and will make the cutest topper for any occasion. Or if you are anything like me, you will make it for no reason. HA! Happy crafting! Don’t you love simple projects like this? Have you made a cake topper?
Materials: Yarn, two paper straws, twine & scissors (not pictured)
Start by making some pom poms out of the yarn, tie them to the twine and tie your garland to the straws. Place on top of your cake, muffins or cupcakes!

Hello world, I’m back! I apologize for disappearing and leaving without notice. I really didn’t expect it or plan it. It all started by having to go to jury duty for “a day”, then it turned into me being a juror for four full weeks. Yes, you read that right, four weeks! I just got dismissed this past Wednesday, right on time for the holiday weekend. I’m slowly going back to my normal life. Boy, how missed it! I sure don’t wish being a juror upon anybody unless you are really into those things. I’m happy to help my country but with all honestly I’m mentally exhausted. Today I woke up with the urge to bake something, so I made these bad boys. They never seem to disappoint. I will try to get back to my normal schedule soon. What have you been up to? Hope you are having a lovely holiday weekend. Virtual hugs to you!

Last week I finally got some succulents for our house. If you follow me on Instagram you probably already know the desert really got to me. Getting these maybe helps keep those memories alive. Either way, I got a handful of succulents and a pair of cacti, plus a few cheap clay pots and made them pretty with some acrylic paint. Nothing big, but simple enough to make me smile wide every time I look out our kitchen window. I brought some for my desk at work and you would be surprised how having these on my desk helps me relax. I know I’m being a total cheese ball but I’m in love with them! HA, do you have succulents or a cactus in your house?

I ran across a pile of books for a dollar at my favorite place this weekend. I knew immediately what I should do! I remember seeing jewelry boxes made out of books everywhere last year on Pinterest. I also remembered this cute DIY by Sincerely Kinsey I’ve pinned. The whole process couldn’t be easier. A bit messy but totally worth it. I even kept some of the pages I had taken out of the book for future scrapbooking projects. I mean, am I an old lady already or what? Anyways, back to the DIY. If you have or see an old book laying around with a pretty cover, make it into a secret jewelry box! I’m using it to keep rings that belonged to my grandma. Glad I was able to make a special place for them!
