A few weeks ago I had a business trip in NY. After all business was done I stayed the weekend to explore the city with the best tour guides I could’ve asked for (Hi Courtney & James!). One of our very first stops was the Brooklyn Flea. Yes, a flea market! After watching Flea Market Flip a zillion times I always dreamt of going. My friends haven’t been there so they were excited to explore it too. I will say the prices were a bit higher than expected but I saw way more stuff than I’ve ever seen here. Maybe I’ve just been to the ones in L.A way too much. HA! I really wished I had an actual suitcase and not just a carry on since I fell in love with a few things that weren’t gonna fit. We’ve been looking for a wooden crate to hold our records and of course there were a ton there. If you are ever in New York during the weekend, make a quick stop here, it’s super fun. As always I got carried away with my camera so I will be sharing photos on a few posts. I must confess too, I had the most delicious lemon poppy-seed donut from Dough. God, I want to be back now. Have you been to this flea market? Which one is your fave?

As you may have figured out by now, we escaped to the desert for my birthday a few weeks back. After our dune buggy adventure we were excited to check in at our hotel, which was none other than the Saguaro. The minute you walk in to this place you fall in love. I mean, it does have a ping pong table in the lobby, so we were off to a good start. The bright color room was decorated nicely. It had a retro camera that we both loved since we have a little collection ourselves. The pool area was fun, the live DJ was a nice touch. They have two restaurants on site. We went to El Jefe for a nice pick me up, the nachos were out of this world!. The free bikes were a nice perk. We rode them one morning to a nice little croissant shop for breakfast. We will definitely go back and stay here again. Palm Springs never disappoints. Have you been? What’s your favorite getaway for the weekend?

Yes, you read that right. This is a Cronut DIY post. It all started when one of my best friends sent me this link. After a few seconds in I texted her: “We are making them this weekend!” and so we did. It was super fun and extremely easy. Which I don’t think is good. The mister and I are both obsessed. I created a monster. Anyways, back to the recipe. We simply used canola oil, 2 (8-ounce) canisters of refrigerated crescent dinner rolls, some vanilla & chocolate pudding. Plus powdered sugar and milk for the glaze. Watch this cute video by Popsugar to get all the deets and enjoy.

A few weeks ago for my birthday I decided to go hide in the desert at one of my favorite spots. The mister planned to kick things off by taking a dune buggy tour. It was overcast so I was a bit hesitant on going. I’m so glad we did because it was by far the best part of our trip! Our driver was an all-American guy who had the best stories about the desert and the wind farms. Being up close to them was out of this world. I always love seeing them on the highway when you’re getting close to town. I couldn’t stop smiling. The whole drive itself was an adventure. I will never forget this day. Do you like dune buggy’s too? Aren’t the wind farms awesome?

I cannot believe Fall officially started. I decided to make a little something Saturday morning with some scraps of felt I had laying around to kick off the season. I started with an idea in my head but not sure what I was going to do. I do feel a little silly making it a DIY but since it might inspire someone out there why not share it? I must confess, it has yet to go up in our house since I’m still gathering the rest of the décor but making this got me started. All I did was cut some leaves out of a few different colors of felt and hand stitch them with pretty twine. I told you it was easy!. Here is to the beginning of a new season!
