A few weeks ago I had a business trip in NY. After all business was done I stayed the weekend to explore the city with the best tour guides I could’ve asked for (Hi Courtney & James!). One of our very first stops was the Brooklyn Flea. Yes, a flea market! After watching Flea Market Flip a zillion times I always dreamt of going. My friends haven’t been there so they were excited to explore it too. I will say the prices were a bit higher than expected but I saw way more stuff than I’ve ever seen here. Maybe I’ve just been to the ones in L.A way too much. HA! I really wished I had an actual suitcase and not just a carry on since I fell in love with a few things that weren’t gonna fit. We’ve been looking for a wooden crate to hold our records and of course there were a ton there. If you are ever in New York during the weekend, make a quick stop here, it’s super fun. As always I got carried away with my camera so I will be sharing photos on a few posts. I must confess too, I had the most delicious lemon poppy-seed donut from Dough. God, I want to be back now. Have you been to this flea market? Which one is your fave?

Yesterday was the first day of the new Downtown flea market in Los Angeles. The mister was the one who found out about it and wanted to go. Which pretty much goes to show why he’s the one for me. We walked around for probably an hour and we were done. There was a big crowd, which made it a bit difficult to really get to see anything we liked. I’ll be honest, I would rather go to my fave spot any given Sunday. Some of the vendors I’ve seen at other events too so there wasn’t anything that really impressed me. But there is always a but , flea markets will always be one of my favorite spots to photograph. I will share all the pics in two posts, as always I got carried away. Do you have a favorite flea market? I’m dying to go the Brooklyn one. Crossing my fingers we can visit NY soon.

My mom got me this lovely book for my birthday and oh boy, I’m obsessed. Found, Free & Flea tells a story of a couple who bought an abandoned summer camp in Wisconsin and gave a new life to all the treasures they found along the way. Me being the flea market geek that I am, I’m having too much fun with it. Besides flea markets being my favorite spot to photograph, now reading about them made me like them even more. If you have even the slightest interest of them, get this book. I’m so ready for our next flea market adventure now!
Do you own this book too? Any book suggestions?
Hope you get inspired!
