A couple of weeks ago I ran my first 5k with some friends from work (Hi guys!) Well, I walked, ran and had the time of my life getting messy. I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time (maybe you remember this similar post). If you ever get the chance to participate in The Color Run just do it! My one goal besides crossing the finish line was simply to get messy. Ok, who am I kidding, I just wanted to play with the colors. I had a blast and now I think I’ll do The Mud Run just to have another excuse to get dirty! Have you ran this too? What 5k do you recommend?

Sometimes the best thing to recharge is an impromptu family day adventure. Saturday was the perfect day for us. Enjoying the day with a special tour of the city of San Diego by good old friends was just what we needed. Looking forward to our next adventure already. Where do you go for day adventures?

I’ve gotten a lot of questions lately on what apps I use for my iPhone pics. Since joining Instagram, it has been so much fun meeting some of you and sharing all different kinds of tips. I decided to share a little list of favorites with you today. I’m no expert, just a photo app lover. Whenever I find a new favorite one I simply can’t stop. So in no specific order here they are…
1. Afterglow | 2. VSCO CAM | 3. Instagram | 4. Picture Show | 5. Over
1. My latest find and new fave is Afterglow. Since its release, I can’t stop using it and it has been fun seeing circle pics take over Instagram little by little.
2. VSCO CAM is great too. I love playing with different exposures on this one.
3. Instragram, well because it’s Instagram. (follow me: @inspirationnook)
4. Picture show is great to play with different frames and lights. It has tons of effects that are fun, plus the option to take photo-booth type pictures. I love taking those pics with my dog.
5. And last but not least, Over, which simply lets you add cool text over your pictures. The possibilities here are endless.

If you have ever been to LA, you’ve probably seen these eye murals somewhere. They always seem to grab my attention. I love their bright colors, their contrast and random locations. Chase is the mastermind behind these. And after some research I realized that he has done murals all over the world. I think I’ll be going on a little adventure soon to take photos of all his murals around this city. Check out some of his work right here! I love Street Art!
