Last week I spent a day at Balboa catching up with an old friend. It never gets old!

Hi world. Look I’m blogging again, HA! I know its been too long. Life has been crazy busy, I know I’m starting to sound like a broken record but here I am again sharing a cute little tutorial for you. I first made these “metal letters” two years ago for our apartment and we are still in love with them. Well, while shopping at Joann’s fabric the other day I came across these cardboard letters and immediately thought about turning them into a metal monogram for our big day. Plus why not share them here too? I mean, all you gotta do is paint your letters black, once they dry out you paint them with metallic paint and voila! Cheaper “Anthropology” letters within minutes. You know me, the fact they’re handmade makes them more special. Have you done these before? You could make these for all different occasions… initials for kids rooms, the famous “eat” sign for your kitchen, etc. I cannot wait to use these on our wedding day as part of our décor.

Hope Spring is treating you nicely. Lalaland has been incredibly hot these past few weeks. I’m scared of Summer already. Feel free to follow along on instagram (@inspirationnook) where I guess I’ve been staying busy. We’re heading out of town to see family next week plus welcoming a very special lady at home for a few days. Now excuse me while I go hug a million people and smile non-stop. Happy almost Friday friends! What have you been up to?

I finally did it, I cooked red quinoa at home! It’s been on my “to-do” list for quite some time. HA! I decided to mix whatever ingredients I had in the fridge and ended up with this tasty salad for dinner. It was definitely inspired by different quinoa salads I’ve had out and about. One of my favorite ones is from Mendecino Farms! You must go there. Anyways back to the recipe… I mixed ingredients from a few different ones I’ve had and ended up with this recipe to share with you! I’m no expert so feel free to add and replace ingredients as you please.
Ingredients
Here is what you do! Cook the quinoa following your package instructions and set aside. In a bowl toss all other ingredients. Once the quinoa is done add your olive oil and pepper to taste. Finish up with the goat cheese and toss some more. As a special touch I added some sliced almonds for texture and it was amazing. Enjoy!
