One of the very first recipes I ever shared here on the blog was my mom’s banana bread. When I made it into muffins, adding chocolate chips, they went viral on Pinterest. This time around I’m adding one more ingredient… zucchini! I simply added a cup of shredded zucchini to the mix and that’s how this zucchini banana chocolate chip bread was born. The end result was amazing!!! Our house smelled incredible too HA! This family recipe will always make me travel back in time. It has become a favorite in our house over the past few years of me making it. As cheesy as it might be, I’m looking forward to passing it along to our future kids one day so it can maintain its family tradition. Give it a try! Have you ever had zucchini bread? What are some of your favorite family recipes?

Yesterday I told you about my visit to Devils Lake State Park. Well, the adventure day continued at none other than a winery! Wollersheim Winery happens to be about 40 miles in proximity to my house which I can totally see my life changing forever! HA! Their Prairie Fumé has been my favorite wine since I tried it during one of our vacations in Wisconsin a few years ago. I used to take bottles back to California with me whenever I had the chance. We even served it at our wedding. I mean, I really love it. So when I was asked if I wanted to visit their winery I was saying yes before the question was even over. We took a lovely tour, tasted a ton of their wines and had the most relaxing Monday in the history of Monday’s. I wish I could kick off every week with a visit to this magical place. Have you ever been? What’s your favorite winery to visit?

This past Monday was definitely one of the most fun days I’ve had since moving to the Midwest. I took a drive out to Devil’s Lake State Park with some of my favorite ladies on this planet (no joke) with simply one thing on our agenda: have a good freaking time! It was my very first visit to the park and I simply cannot wait to go back in the Spring and Summer. I took my frozen lake walking to the next level by walking on a frozen beach! HA! It still feels pretty surreal every time I take a couple of steps on any kind of frozen water, the magic side of it is always present. While driving around the park, everywhere you looked was breathtaking. Wisconsin, you never cease to amaze me! Have you been to this great state park? Which state park is your fave?

A few months ago I shared the lovely Lake Monona in all its Fall glory. There is something about the Winter season that just keeps it magical, specially when covered in snow. After losing my fear of walking on frozen lakes last week, I told the mister we had to go check out this dinosaur on Lake Monona. He laughed in confusion but knew I was up to something fun. Out we went on the perfect winter day in search of our new friend. This awesome sculpture by a local artist Timothy Browning is what creativity is all about! The pop of color in such a gloomy environment really brightens up anybody’s day. I learned that the artist has actually put art on the lake for the past 16 years. How amazing is that? Looking forward to making this little photo session a family tradition in years to come! Have you seen this red creature? Isn’t he handsome?

After years of visiting this beautiful city, it took us moving here to finally visit the inside of the Capitol! During one of our very first visits to Madison, the Capitol was one of the first things that really stole my heart. There is just something magical about it. Stepping foot inside was pretty breathtaking. I honestly can’t believe it took me this long. Funny story, as we went in my camera battery died so I was stuck with taking iPhone pics, not the best but not too bad either. Hope you enjoy this little virtual tour of the most gorgeous building in our city! Have you ever been? What building do you have a crush on in your neck of the woods?
