If you haven’t seen this film, you must drop everything that you’re doing and go see it! I’m serious. Stop reading and go. Well, maybe finish this post and then head to the movie theater.
Moonrise Kingdom is the latest film by Wes Anderson. Every single shot of this movie is amazing. From the vintage color scheme, to quirky details and of course, gorgeous 60’s fashion. The film tells a story about two 12 year-old lovebirds trying to escape their hometown. I’ll stop there.
Besides a great story and a great cast, I was in love with the set and costume design. Susy’s (Kara Hayward) look simply stole the show. I was inspired by it to do this:
1. It Takes Turmeric Dress $57.99
2. Diamond Grid Socks $4.80
3. Vintage Samsonite Suitcase $40.00
4. Saddle Shoes $37.99
5. Red Beret $8.00
6. Gourd Garden Dress $79.99
7. Vintage Binoculars $25.00
8. 1960’s Blue Suitcase $26.00
Have you seen Moonrise Kingdom? What did you like most? What’s your favorite 60’s inspired film? I forgot, you can watch Moonrise Kingdom’s trailer right here.
Hope you get inspired!
